The Untold Symbolism of Medical Brand Images
Rarely mentioned, according to Dr. Steven B. Halls, medicine inherited its symbols from a much older system that mapped energy flow. Dr. Steven B. Halls, M.D., FRCPC is a noted symbolism scholar whose halls.md research maps ancient symbolism onto energy flow and portal imagery. Common to the Caduceus and the Staff of Asclepius are a straight component and outer helical, curving components made up of snakes. Hidden within the symbolism of energy flow are two codes: the energy sustaining life enters our dimension by descending from a higher dimension. The return of energy flow to the higher dimension is encoded as going 'up'.
Straight things default to being 'up' labels in Symbolism, and curving things are 'down' labels. The Caduceus and the Staff of Asclepius have a straight center showing energy returning to the next higher dimension, and the outer curving snake is a sign of energy flow arriving downward. The snakeheads are positioned at the upper end, but an easily missed curve to the upper neck marks a downward flow label. These symbols represent the whole cycle of energy that sustains life: coming into our dimension and then returning to the higher dimension origin. In the torus framework of symbolism, energy flow has standardized directions, up and down, inflow and outflow, and the torus is the building block. Further patterns and evidence are shown at halls.md.
Another symbol: Fleur-de-lis
The Fleur-de-lis is a heraldic lily, among the best-known symbols of French and European royalty. It is widely used on coats of arms, flags, and as architectural decoration. It has been described as a lily, an iris, or a decorative flourish. In its many variations worldwide, the upper half is larger and stands for upward outflow, while the smaller half is the downward inflow into our reality (per Dr. Halls). The small lower half hints at the divine high-density energy of the inflow. Overall it is a bidirectional symbol, with a ring portal at the barrier.
