Creative Singing – Inspired by Raga

3 January, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Discover your voice and learn to improvise in different scales

Each scale has its unique energy, way and style.

We do plenty of warm up exercises, for the whole body as well as the voice.

Singing is good for health, for confidence, lifts mood and life energy, helps to balance and centre, developing creativity, versatility and listening skills.

Excellent for release of tension and keeping energetically clean.

This is a CPD class recognised by the Shiatsu Society, led by Tal Calthrop MRSS

Tal combines her singing knowledge with her shiatsu background, 25 years’ experience in energy work.

Weaving East & West in her teaching style, inspired by Raga and cosmic sound.

Qualified as a music leader from CM Sounds, world music teaching from SOAS and received many years private and group tuition from Ayelet Amitai,     Gilles Petit, Kala Shah and Ustaad Wajahat Khan.

Beginners are welcome

Carol: “I started raga a few years ago and I love how it has helped me to use my voice in a different way.  We are challenged, but without that there would not be so much progress.  We get lots of support and encouragement too and it is a small group so not so daunting.  I could not read a note of music before I started so it is really exciting to be able to reproduce simple sequences and also to find new tunes emerging as if by magic from the raga scales.

I think any-one whether they are a beginner at music or have years of experience would find this way of singing rewarding.”

1st Tuesday of each month 2-5pm at BSS, cost £20

BSS address: Unit 3 Thane Works, Thane Villas, London N7 7NU
